I have been using Peter for over 7 years now. We have American Quarter Horses and have had some quite interesting cases for Peter to deal with including a grass allergy and a broken pelvis. Peter has always been open minded and very sympathetic with the horses (and me!), meaning we could work together to get horses fit and well where sometimes hope may have been lost. We have had to use some ‘alternative’ remedies in some instances and Peter has always been happy to work with other practitioners to get the best results for the horse. I hope I never have to move too far away from his area as I would be lost without all his help!

My mare, Queenie, adores Peter. His calm, sympathetic, soothing manner keep her stress free whilst his thoroughness, wide experience, willingness to explain every step of the process and to keep an open mind, are all the reassurance I need to know she is in the best of hands. You will be hard pressed to find a better equine vet than Peter.

Peter has cared for our horses for many years. He is always attentive and informative, giving us a full picture of the options open to us and providing invaluable input into the care and wellbeing of the competition horses we produce. We would have no hesitation in recommending Peter and have done so many times with excellent results.

Peter answered my emergency call; my daughter’s horse was down with colic. I was not one of Peter’s clients at that time, but he came immediately. Peter treats my horses with calm, kind, efficiency. He explains options, we make decisions together, and he is generous with his time which is reflected in his accounts. He and Kate, his Practice Manager, are contactable, communicative and considerate of their clients’ busy lives. I am thankful to be a client of Sclater Equine.

Peter has been my vet for 8 years, ever since he moved back to the area. He is always there at the end of the phone or sometimes on the yard in the early hours of the morning, particularly during the breeding season. There is never a complaint!
Horses give you good times and certainly some bad times that is the nature of the game. I trust Peter’s judgement and ability to keep the horses on the right road. The breeding side of the game can be frustrating at times, but with Peter’s dedication and attention to detail we have had lots of success creating new life year after year.
Peter is my “comfort blanket” and he is very much part of the team here at Camrose Stud.
